They’re everywhere- in our clothes, pots and pans, in our water, and even in our bodies –
tiny toxic particles that never go away called PFAS (short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). These “forever chemicals” have been common in consumer goods since the 1940s and are known to cause a host of health and environmental problems. At KAHUenergy we are working hard to find a solution to the PFAS problem. The need to find a safe disposal method for this toxic trash is urgent.

Research has linked PFAS exposure to liver damage, thyroid disease, decreased fertility, high cholesterol, obesity, hormone disruption, and even cancer. Moreover, these chemicals possess a disturbing tendency to accumulate in the body over time, posing long-term health risks. The chemicals also cause damage to the environment, where they can persist for decades in water and the bodies of fish and other wildlife. The EPA has released studies showing the potential for gasification as a PFAS solution. Unlike other forms of hazardous waste, PFAS is nearly impossible to destroy and often ends up
in landfills. Currently experts estimate that 16,500 pounds of PFAS end up in landfills annually, posing significant health and environmental problems to people and the planet. At KAHUenergy our mission is to keep waste out of landfills and greenhouse gasses out of the air. Our gasifier shows promise in the destruction of PFAS. We are poised to help solve the PFAS problem and invite you to join us on this journey.
